SHIBA stands for Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisors Our program is a state and federally funded program that offers free Medicare counseling to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and other agencies and business asking for information. We counsel on billing issues, Medicare coverage, enrollment in Part D, enrollment in Medicare Advantage plans, Medigap, and Fraud. We also help resolve problems associated with billing, enrollment, etc. We work closely with other agencies and programs such as the Commission on Aging, the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program, CCOA, and others to help seniors work out problems and understand their Medicare coverage and Medicare related programs.
